How YOU can get involved

The neighbourhood plan will be a really important document for us. It will set how land is used in the future and will also contain planning policies that will be used to help determine planning applications that are submitted here.

Listen to our latest podcast to find out more about the Neighbourhood Plan on Spotify – or search for ‘Borehamwood Tales’ on Apple, Google or Amazon.

It’s vital therefore that we get as much input from the local community as possible. This page will include details of up coming events and activities that you can get involved in, as well as information about what has already happened. Please contact us to get involved or to find out more.

Wednesday 8th March 2023 – The Annual Town Meeting – we will be talking about the Neighbourhood Plan and sharing our initial thoughts on a Vision and Objectives for the area, based on the feedback to date from the Community Survey and the Youth Survey.

Tuesday 7th March 2023– this is our next Steering Group meeting. Please email us if you would like to come along.

Community Survey (ongoing) Our survey is still open so it’s not too late to fill it in. An update of the findings to date will be posted here shortly.

Youth Survey – The Youth Council assisted us in preparing a questionnaire aimed at teenagers in the area. We’ve sent it via the schools and have had a fantastic response to date. An update of the findings to date will be posted here shortly.

January 2023 – Our planning consultant, Alison, went along to Yavneh College to talk to the Year 12 and 13 Geography students about planning as a career and to get their views on their strengths and weaknesses of the area and how things could be improved. We gained some really good feedback.

Business Survey (ongoing)- Do you run a business locally? If so, please fill in our business survey dedicated especially to you.

Facebook – We are posting updates on our Facebook page, so please have a look.

Town Crier – There is always an article on the Neighbourhood Plan, so keep an eye out in your next copy. Back issues can be found by clicking here.

Chatter Tables (December 2022) We went along to the Monday afternoon social group to talk about the neighbourhood plan and get some feedback from those present about what sort of issues we need to be tackling. The group, which is organised by Leecliffe Big Local, aims to help people in Borehamwood to connect to their community over a cup of tea, cake and a chat with fellow residents. It runs every Monday 13:30 – 15:00 for FREE at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Brook Road, WD6 5EQ and is open to everyone!

Youth Council (ongoing) – We have been speaking to the Youth Council, who helped us prepare the Youth Survey. They are also leading on some other projects locally, including a walking and cycling project, and we will be making sure that their findings are included with the neighbourhood plan.
